Informatica BDM Administrator

To £525 per day + expenses

Lancashire (Mon - Thu), home-based on Fridays

We are recruiting for a Global Consultancy who are looking for an Informatica BDM Administrator to join them on a contract basis working with a prestigious client in Lancashire on the Europe's largest data transformation programme.

The Informatica BDM/IDQ Administrator is responsible for administrating Informatica Big Data Management (BDM) (version 10.2) via the client tools (Administrator console, Analyst tool and Developer tool).

Key Responsibilities:

  • To troubleshoot/find root cause/resolving incidents
  • To analyze and troubleshoot domain and services logs on the server
  • To deploy code to production using Developer tool
  • To create and maintain connections in Administration console
  • Flexible to cover occasional overtime as needed outside core hours


  • Knowledge of Informatica platform as a whole and integration among different Informatica components and services including BDM, IDQ and Axon
  • Proven experience with code deployment to production using Developer tool (code migration by export and import object and deployment groups ) and other administrative tasks, such as creating/maintaining connections in Administration console
  • Prefer experience in developing mapping, profiles and scorecards in BDM tool
  • Prefer experience upgrading and patching Informatica application
  • Prefer previous experience in production support

Skills and Abilities

2+ years of experience in a production environment with:

  • Informatica Big Data Management (BDM) (version 10.X) (Essential)
  • Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) (Essential)
  • Informatica Axon (Preferred)
  • Hadoop ecosystem hands on experience (Hadoop, hive, pig, oozie, etc.) (Essential)
  • BDM patching/upgrade experience (Preferred)
  • UNIX/Linux experience (Essential)
  • SQL & PL/SQL Development skills (Essential)
  • UNIX shell scripting (Preferred)
